Rod Ruiz serves as headmaster of St. Thomas More Academy, and he teaches Spanish, History, and Publications. 

Mr. Ruiz draws from a wealth of experience.  In addition to a previous tenure of teaching, Mr. Ruiz served as a corporate trainer for 15 years.  He developed curricula and trained management in leadership, organizational effectiveness, and team building.

Cognizant of various learning styles, Mr. Ruiz helps teachers at St. Thomas More Academy

tailor the school’s educational program for each student. 

As a result, St. Thomas More Academy maximizes the individual capabilities of every student and enables each to excel.

Mr. Ruiz helps develop students’ leadership skills by teaching them to work in teams, build consensus, and inspire others.

Mr. Ruiz’s Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro is accompanied by post-graduate studies in business.  He is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Ruiz is a member of the parish council of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raleigh.  He volunteers in the Hispanic community, and has taught English as a second language. 

Mr. Ruiz is married, with three children.
